Financial Protection

A relatively small sum of money can protect you and your family against many of the unforeseen events that can lead to financial crisis.

A relatively small sum of money can protect you and your family against many of the unforeseen events that can lead to financial crisis.  The state provides a safety net, but it is just that, giving you enough to exist on and to prevent starvation.  Your circumstances can change suddenly and without warning, and now is the time to make sure that you’ve done enough to safeguard your family’s income.  There are a huge number of different products available, meeting a variety of requirements.  We’ll discuss with you your priorities and needs, and recommend the best options.

Life Assurance

The simplest and cheapest form of life assurance is term assurance. This provides for life assurance protection for a set period of time, after which the cover ceases without value. For just a few pounds a month you could provide tens of thousands of pounds of protection for you and your family. If you’re a couple with children, it’s important to insure both lives, not just that of the main breadwinner.  If the person who does most of the child-care dies, life will be hard enough without having to worry about how to pay someone to care, cook and clean.

Permanent Health Insurance

This replaces your income if you are unable to work for a prolonged period of time. It could pay you a regular monthly tax-free income, after a pre-selected waiting period, and if necessary, up to your selected retirement age. We’ll give you advice on the most appropriate type of policy for you.

Critical Illness Cover

Critical Illness cover can pay you a tax-free lump sum on diagnosis of a wide range of critical illnesses (for example, cancer, heart disease, or a stroke). This can be used to clear off your mortgage and make suitable adjustments to your lifestyle.  Survival rates for many illnesses are getting better all the time, but diagnosis can have a devastating effect on family life and finances. This type of cover has had some bad publicity recently, with people finding too many exclusions in the small print.  We know the best policies, and will explain the detail to you so that you can make the right decision.
